Organic interiors
Anything made from natural materials can be considered organic, but an emerging design trend called “organic interiors” goes beyond simply using natural elements. The organic design makes green living a lifestyle and style choice. Organic design is both a style and a principle of design and construction. As a style, it constitutes the polar opposite of geometric, functionalist styles. It is inspired by organic shapes and sometimes also by inorganic, particularly crystalline, structures, both of which appear in nature. Classical features of the organic design are powerful curves and dynamic, round shapes. Typically but not exclusively amorphous forms are used which appear natural and which symbolise nature. The aim is to achieve a pleasing, natural impression (Source: http://news.imm-cologne.com/2010/10/organic-design/.)
French Chateau Style Interior
A historic French chateau-style interior remains a stunning example of old-world grandeur. The authentic chateau interior is a gorgeous serene living space that exudes European opulence by way of beautiful antiques and architectural details but in a casually elegant way that is charming and sophisticated.

INTRODUCTION
This book is about interior design with a specific focus on Organic French Chateau Style. The style was selected and developed by the authors of this book over a period of many years. The specific style is unique to the two writers, and it provides a view into the ideas and personal design construct of authors. Read more about this specific style and the identification of additional individual styles in the following chapters. For those interested in alternative and more individual design styles this book is a must. It is not based on the normal run of the mill interior decorating book, but rather on the uniquely different individual approach and passion of the co-writers. The intention is to prompt the reader to identify, refine, develop and interpret his or her design style. The book is divided into chapters, which could be viewed in the planning section at the beginning of the book. A visual display (sketches) of the planning of the layout of the book is included.
The two endeavoured to cover a typical three-bedroom house in a suburban area; the thinking, the collaboration, and the dreams, the combinations, the juxtapositions, the contrasts, are all included to enlighten readers. Most of the pictures were taken from their home and reflected their unique style. Their interesting interior design journey is documented. The paintings illustrate the unique events; it concludes with a painting that symbolises their journey up to this point. Readers will find this true story fascinating as the three painting reveals deep personal growth and development. It encapsulates their dreams and aspirations. Be prepared for an exciting personal story at the end of this book!
’An artist friend, residing in South Africa, was commissioned to paint the three scenes to illustrate the personal events as it unfolds’. Scene one illustrates events of thirty-five years ago, the second about twenty years later and the final painting reveals the current events…’
The book progresses quickly to the Organic French Interior Design Style. Some of the chapters touch on the details of the different rooms and different areas in the rooms. The focus on detail is evident throughout the book with some in-depth comments with annotations are included to provide a rich, layered illustration of the items and objet d’art. Comments on the choice of objet d’art, the combination of shapes, forms, colours, textures, patterns and more are included. The book also includes the history, stories, and explanations of some of the items collected and inherited by the authors. The rich personal history provides an additional layer of interest to this richly illustrated book.
